St. Matthew’s Baptist Church was the church that Denver attended during his slave days in Coushatta, Louisiana.
The church is still there today, and is located next to a highway and railroad tracks.
The three crosses surrounding the church represent the crucifixion.
Denver used glitter on the sun, the three crosses, and the roof of the church.
