Cerulean Gallery HostsHighland Park High School Senior Art ShowDallas, April 4, 2007 —Cerulean Gallery is pleased to host this year’s Highland Park High School (HPHS) Senior Arts Show, April 14 – 21, with a reception on Saturday, April 14, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. HPHS students will be designing the invitation, and installing their own work for the exhibition. Approximately 40 students will hang a minimum of four pieces. Three outside judges – specializing in 2D, ceramics, and art photography – will judge the unlabeled works in order to select the award winners. The awards are the Stanton Gage Award, the 2-D Art Purchase Award, the Ceramics Award, the Art Photography Award, and the awards given by HP Arts, a non-profit corporation. “One of my goals when opening my gallery was to support and involve the community, not only through donating proceeds to charities, but working directly with schools,” said Caroline Crockett, owner of the gallery. “I’m delighted to support Highland Park High School. This is a tremendous opportunity for the students to exhibit their works in a gallery rather than the school cafeteria.” Typically held at the HPHS cafeteria, this gallery reception is a special reception to show the students’ work. The HP Arts award winners will take their winning art works to the last HP Arts meeting in May to receive their checks. All other awards will be announced May 23 at Senior Honors Day. “Our students are so excited to have their works exhibited in a gallery as Cerulean Gallery,” said Sarabeth Smetzer, HPHS art teacher. |
