Kristina M. Smith

        I graduated in 2004 from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Visual Studies and a focus on Metalsmithing and Jewelry. I am a third year certified Art Specialist for pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.

My current works explore the textural effects of mixed media juxtaposed with torn paper under monochromatic layers of pigment glaze, and varnish.  My subjects are abstractions of letters and astrological symbols used as a design motif for mosaic like compositions.

I am a member of TAEA and PAEA and have shown my artwork for “The Society of North American” Goldsmiths exhibition in San Francisco and ‘Making it in Metals” exhibition at Texas Tech Landmark Gallery.
