Inspired by the works of Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe, Van Gogh, Brancusi, and Henry Moore, Elsa Aurora Sherrell enjoys experimenting with different materials, styles, and forms in her sculpture and painting.  She will feature abstracts, acrylics, and sculpture of all mediums for “Out of the Blue Two”. “I enjoy bringing pleasure to the eye of the beholder by celebrating life with all its beautiful colors and shapes,” said Sherrell.

I was born in Mexico and raised on beautiful Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. I proudly earned my B.F.A. from the prestigious School of The Art Institute of Chicago after studying abroad in romantic Florence, Rome, and Venice.

While in Italy I quickly discovered their secret to life… PASSION! Taking in life with every sip of freshly brewed coffee at their local cafes, surrounded by works of art from Masters who have set the standards of living to its fullest. Living life with passion from whatever you do, what you see, hear, fell and taste. I got it! I could have lived in Italy forever! But my life journey brought me back to the United States to continue my training.

After graduating I had returned to Europe several times, inspiring me once again to follow my hearts desires. I vowed to always remember the happiest time in my life and find a way in my Art to express the Renaissance my heart felt.

My paintings exude joy and happiness using brilliant, illuminating colors to ignite ideas of love and passion that is in all of us. I enjoy the heart shape for its universal symbol of LOVE!

I hope you remember the love and passion inside of you! So, take heart, have a cup of coffee and love more today than yesterday!
