Keith Williams

My paintings in this exhibition are representations, of places I have experienced or thought about. Through the process of creating I allow the work to evolve and change. The environment becomes about the memory as much as the reference material.  In these works the perception of form and color are affected so that the paintings, in a sense, are abstract but when contemplated from a further distance they come together as expressive landscapes or environments. Moving through the gallery new interaction happens within my artwork. Rhythm and harmony come together and movement occurs. I like the idea of painting aspects of nature up close as well as traditional landscapes. I deal with the idea of time in painting moving water and skies passing by.”
