There are two things that all my friends and family know about me. I love life. I love people. I am a man that cherishes his life. I love being alive, and I love seeing other people share in this joy by experiencing happiness. That is my primary goal as an artist- to enhance the lives of others. I tremendously enjoy speaking with collectors and individuals from all walks of life. I appreciate opportunities to listen to people. I seek to help those in need, and to heal others whenever possible. Whether friend or stranger, I will do anything I can to help you, and treat you as family. A friend of mine once told me, “You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.” I have made this my personal mission statement. My boyish goal of “making the world a better place” remains with me to this day. My experiences in art have led me to return to school to further investigate the biology of seeing, eye and brain relationship, and general biology. My love for healing and for people, has led me to pursue family medicine. I am currently working towards achieving all of the necessary prerequisites and will be applying to medical schools a year from now. I hope to one day become a physician, I pray for that. I will always be an artist. I will always seek to enhance the lives of others. I love life. I want others to be able to enjoy theirs as much as possible.

Joshua Sorenson was born into the world of art. The son of artist Jack Sorenson, Joshua grew up in a supportive environment that encouraged him to pursue his dreams, harvesting the creativity of an artist in him at a young age. As a boy, Joshua began sketching as soon as he was able to hold a pencil, composing drawings of bronze sculptures made by his father. As he matured, Joshua’s interest in and passion for the arts only intensified, taking up oil painting in 1999. Joshua honed his skills as an artist for the following decade and began painting professionally in 2010, a decision he credits to the support of his loving wife. Joe Wade Fine Art in Santa Fe, NM, and Cerulean Gallery of Amarillo represent Joshua. Joshua lives at Creekwood Ranch in Canyon, Texas, with his wife Alexis and daughter Roonie.
